authenticating: levels, etc..

currently i'm building my own cms system (well, picking uop where i left it because of a busy schedule..)

and now i was wondering.
i've already have levels of security (sessions and login verification based on D😎

but is there a risk involved with using includes ?
let's say i have an if else statements to control who gets permission to do what, and it's based on including the editing files in stead of coding everything on one page.
or is that simply a matter of taste and convenience

No risk, afaik. Including files simply replaces "include" with contents of the file included, technically. You may want to protect files that NEED to be included from direct access:

define ("BLABLA", 1); // this in script that INCLUDES

if (!defined("BLABLA")) exit; // this at the top of script that is being included
