Thought I had this solved, but my host moved the account to a new server (previous server was having problems) and the problem has recurred again.
When certain users log into my site, they receive confirmation that login is successful. However, as soon as they switch pages, the new page (which requires they be logged in - determined by whether they have a session and a UserID session variable is set) believes they are not logged in and tells them they must log in again.
Per my previous post:

I thought I had it solved by creating a "tmp" directory outside the public html root. However, even with an identical directory structure on the new server, these few users are unable to stay logged in. Unfortunately some of these users are customers who want to spend money. I also tried deleting and re-creating the tmp directory, and also creating one INSIDE the public html directory. And made sure both are set to 777 permissions.
This only happens for some users (the cases I know about are all on PCs). I can't duplicate the problem myself on either Mac or PC.
I'm really worried about this - we can't have people unable to stay logged in on this site. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
