Get value from drop down

I know this is probably a javascript question. But i wanted to get a selectede value from a drop down list instantly. For example if the user selects the number one from the drop down list the value taken can be used to show a table with that many rows.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You are right, this is a javascript question, u should look into onchange event ...
