receiving arguments

Hi all,
I've seen that some pages receive arguments as follows:

how can that be possible? I read about $GET and $POST but it seems not to tell about this kind of argument passing

does anybody know how to receive arguments this way? thank you all in advance

You would need to use mod_rewrite. Nothing at all to do with php really.
