where to find good programmers?

I need to find a good PHP, AJAX, SQL programmer for some upcoming projects.
Where should I start looking?

The newspaper, go local. There's a punk kid in your neighbourhood with the skills who needs money for xbox games. Go find them 😉

You should go to other PHP forums and such, and just post ads there. Maybe a tech forum, and see how many people reply?

I say go local. Support your local area, be able to meet the person and track'em down if they try anything funny 🙂 Plus they should be able to speak you language.

I have thought about going local but I'm not sure that would be a good idea in my case. I live in Norway, so I'd probably end up paying a punk kid the same that I'd have to pay a real professional from Russia etc. (That is what happened the last time I hired a local) I have worked with many programmers from the US, UK, Asia and Russia before and I actually preferred working with Russians. They seemed to be the wizards of programming 😉 Whatever I threw at them, they would make it happen.
