Ok, i'm designing a site for a company that has a vendor directory. Up until now I've had no problems, but basically the vendors are sorted by category,a nd then can be filtered by region. Now, I went in and added all of the UK regions instead of just england, and now I get these errors when I try to add a site.

I've attached the 2 PHP files renamed as text files that are responsible for adding the vendors so hopefully one of you amazing coders out there can tell me what the heck is going on. Thanks!

It's telling you that your query failed to process, probably due to a SQL syntax error or an invalid table or column name. Try changing line 18 to:

$query = "SELECT * FROM dir_categories WHERE cat_id = $lstCategories";
$result=mysql_query($query, $link) or die("Query failed: $query - " . mysql_error());

Then you'll at least have some debug info to work with.

Thanks. I should probably clarify a couple of things here as well:

1) We recently switched from a server with PHP5 to a server running PHP4.4 because of the requirements for a CMS i'm in the process of implementing, but I don't recall there being any PHP version requriements for the directory script we purchased, but could that possibly be an issue?

2) I'm a complete newbie at PHP, hence why we purchased this script, so unfortunately, debug info won't help me very much, but I could implement those changes and post the results back here if one of you PHP gurus could give me a hand here.

I really want to learn PHP because I'm very impressed with it's capabilities, but due to the time limitations I have to get this site running, I haven't had the time to start learning PHP properly yet. But that is definitely on my list of things to do as soon as this project is done.

Also, I would ordinarily just gone to the guy who wrote this script, but he has seen fit to completely ignore any help requests I've made, so I'm basically stuck relying on the help of those much wiser than I in this situation. 🙂
