how to highlight text link thats reading from database

Hey there all

i need some help on the highlighting of a link

what i've done is the following

i have a photo gallery page and so the photos come up 50 at a time which means at the bottom of the page i've done a php programming that counts how many photos there is and then makes the right amount of links in order for the ppl to click on it to either view the first set of photos(50) or the second or the third etc

page layout in other words is the 50 photos showing and then at the bottom (that s to say if there is 75 photos for example)

the the numbering which is read from the database with a count feature will show
[1] [2]

the programming looks like this

but my problem now is that the ppl cant see on what number they are cause the link style is white underlined.

how can i hav the number they clicked on Highligted (and no just changing the link properties for the page of the active link does not work nor the visited cause after a while all the numbers are highlighted which still leaves me with my problem

tht wont work for what i'm trying to do!

whats happening is that the links are counted in the MySQL

so it runs a loop and then if you want to click on the 1 or 2 or 3 or how many ever is available it links you to the page of the previous 50 or next 50 so when you click on a link i want it highlighted to show that your on that page!

but i want this to happen without making it

a:visited { color: #cc3333; } 

because with that it highlights all the clicked numbers and then it starts getting confusing! so it wont solve my problem

Huh?

Why not simply echo out what page you are on and highlight that with...yeah...again...css...?

<?php echo "<p class='highlight'>$page</p>"; ?>

This isn't really a PHP question btw...
