Create Thumbnail?

I currently have a function that automatically creates a thumbnail when a user uploads an image. The function is workng fine and outputs the thumbnail in the required size, but it is simply a cropped area of the original image, what I want is the WHOLE original image, simply scaled down.

My current fucntion is as follows:

function createThumbnail($imageDirectory, $imageName, $thumbDirectory, $thumbHeight)

$origHeight = imagesy($srcImg);

imagecopyresized($thumbImg, $srcImg, 0, 0, 0, 0, $thumbWidth, $thumbHeight, imagesx($thumbImg), imagesy($thumbImg));

imagejpeg($thumbImg, "$thumbDirectory/$imageName");

}

Any help would be much appreciated.

You might want to use imagecopyresampled instead of imagecopyresized
