Want to install PHP5 on my Mac OSX PPC

I would like to install PHP 5 on my Mac so I don't have to upload my programs to find out whether they are working. Is there a tutorial on how to do this that is clear? If so, please let me know.

Definitely do not use XAMPP on OS X. They don't support it anymore, and it was last updated over a year ago.

There is MAMP for OS X which some people like. I personally don't, but it may be the kind of thing for you.

You can also install it onto the Apache that OS X ships with. There is an installer package which runs as a standard OS X installer if you are not comfortable compiling it from source: http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/

If you need MySQL, there are standard OS X installers for it as well on the MySQL download site.
