Akk! Help importing databases

I need some help here. I just purchased a dedicated server and am moving my discussion forums from a VPS to my new server, which happens to use cPanel. Here's my problem. I created an account called for my site with a user named, lets just say "fred". When I log into cPanel and use the MySql feature to create a database, it puts "fred" in front of the DB name. For example, sat I create a DB called "chat", well, what it acually creates is a DB called fred_chat. Then, when I try to import my original DB (chat), I get an error that the import script is creating a DB called "chat" and the access is denied for user fred@localhost.

Any help in how to do this would be greatly appreciated,

i'm not familiar with cpanel but prefixing table names with usernames sounds like something that would happen in a shared server environment. if you indeed purchased your own dedicated server then you should be allowed to configure it any way you wish. talk to your server admin.

yeah most 'dedicated servers' come with some kind of thing like cPanel which is intended to automate the creation of a bunch of different sites on your server. It's basically your hosting company being lazy. I've worked with a dedicated server that runs Ensim which is similar to cPanel but I was able to at least name my databases whatever I wanted.
