[RESOLVED] passing a variable ?

Hi, PHP n00b here. I currently have an email form script which I typically use, but now I need to slightly modify it.

what I need to do is this:

(1) first have a page with a select box with options such as:

was this article helpful?
yes | no | somewhat | not at all | etc....

(2) Then, when the user picks one of the options, the page redirects to another page with a <textarea> box, and a input field for their email address. Based upon what they selected previously, it gets displayed on this page, in text like:

you thought this article [name] was "not at all" helpful. Please explain why.

(3) On this page, they are allowed to enter additional comments regarding how they feel. And when they click submit it emails it to me. The email part is already coded, so no need to worry about that. The script which I use to email me allows me to add as many fields as I want, and I can easily specify which ones are required. I just need to somehow pass a value to the form from the previous page.

can anyone help me or point to any good tutorials on this? Thanks in advance!

just put the variable in a hidden form field on the second page i.e.

first page:

<input type="text" name="helpful">

second page:

<input type="hidden" name="helpful" value="<?=$_POST["helpful"];?>">

this way the value will be posted from the first page, stored in a hidden form field on the second page and then posted onto your email script when you post the form on the second page.
