[RESOLVED] php from CD

Hello, I'm probably not posting this in the right place but I cannot find a webserver forum on here any more so many apologys if it is in the wrong place please tell me where to repost thread.

I have an upcoming university project that utilises php, flash, javascript, xml etc and so i need to run a server to facilitate this project working. There is one slight problem in that I cannot install apps on the university computers and they do not run a webserver.

sooo. my question is 'How could I run a webserver capable of php from a cd?' Cheers guys

Searching with Google for "web server on cd" finds quite a few for both Linux and Windows. Some are free and some are not.

Well, you have quite a few options. You can use Uniform Server (google it) which is Apache, PHP, mySQL, phpMyAdmin, PERL all in one. Or you can use XAMPP Lite which has the same features.

PortableWebAp is another good solution, although you have to pay for it.

So there are three solutions that do exactly what you want. Choose one and roll with it 😉

Thanx guys you have all been so helpful. Unfortunately In the time it took 2 get the info to me I got bored and started writing my own. It is by no means perfect but it can be used for my quick & dirty uni purposes. I'll mark this tread resolved Then 🙂
