MySQL Data into a <select>

I am new to PHP and have no idea how to get the mysql data into a <select></select> field. I am fimilar with ASP and know how to do it. In ASP the process is:

While Not Rs.EOF
<option value='Rs(0)'>Rs(1)</option>
Wend
Rs.Movenext
Rs.Close

How do I do this in PHP?
