Hi all

I have a quick question/thought that I hope someone may be able to help or advise me with.

I would like to create a website that a client is able to add and edit their own text and images to pages without me having to update the site and with the user having little coding knowledge (use of forms for data/image input!) but am unsure what tutorials/scripts/products I should be looking at.

CMS seems like the answer but there is so little out there for me to learn how to code them and all seem to be too big (in features etc) for what I need.

I have made a news system, which may be the option to use but apply it to all the pages, and how would the news system know which part of the site the admin is trying to update? (MYSQL database I guess!).

Someone suggested a blog but I don't want comments etc from general users. It will just be a basic site that I dont have to be called on to update things such as prices, news, address changes etc.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

A CMS is your best bet, and most of them are very customizable. Take a look at Joomla, Mambo open Source, PHP-Nuke, Drupal, and openCMS. You can google for PHP CMS and get a list with lots of CMS scripts.

I'd suggest you look a little deeper at some of the CMSs. i think you'll find either Joomla or PHP-Nuke would server your needs. Everything you need is essentially already in the base package, and only when the owner wants new functionality would you be direclty involved.
