Next and previous links

I have a database (mySQL) with several thousand of pictures. I know how to build a page and show all of them but that will take forever with so many pictures. So I need a way to build next and previous links and just show a page with 10 pictures at once. For example:

Previous 1-10 11-20 21-30 31-40 Next

How do I build dynamic links like that? Is there a code example somewhere?

I don't know if you've been able to work out what you're looking to do but here is a nice class that is well documented and is easily customized to allow flexible prev 1 2 3 next links.

You say you have thousands of pictures, which in turn could mean Lots of pages. With this class, you can show, for example

prev 1 [2] 3 4 next

then when you click next

prev 2 [3] 4 5 next

or pretty much any other way you want. Check it out:
