[RESOLVED] Embed HTML

Hello all,
I am hoping that someone can help me here without using frames.

I am needing to generate html content on the fly. This will be linked to from a static html page and run the php on my server to produce the content.

Does anyone know how I can do this without frames? I've heard that frames are not a good way to go.

I tried to use img src but this is obviously looking for a picture. My dynamic html consists of a static picture between two dynamic anchor tags.

What you are asking for is the main reason that PHP was invented. You have page 1 that links to page 2.

Page 2 looks like this:

<title>Page 2</title>
</head>
<body>
This is page 2
Blah blah blah
<?php 

//  Generate some dynamic content
//  Maybe you want some external file to generate some dynamic content in HTML format for you
include("weather.php");   

//  Maybe you want to convert their weight to the equivalent in bananas

So what you end up with is a page. When you link to that page, you get some HTML followed by some sort of dynamic HTML then followed by more static html. Is that what you're looking for?

Thanks for you kind reply. I probably didn't explain myself very well.

The page that I had to include the file on has no server sided scripting. So the above solution wouldn't work as it couldn't parse the document. I do however have php on my server.

I think I've found a solution though. The image itself is static and it is only the <a href> target surrounding the picture that needs to change. My plan is to have that link go to my server to say linker.php and from their I can calculate the page it needs to direct to and simply redirect using php.
