PHP Not executing code

Hey im currenty running a home server with the following

Microsoft XP Professional Using IIS5.1
and PHP 4.4.4

Ive created a page called info.php with the code

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

When i navgate to the page using http://localhost/info.php all i get is a blank white screen. When i right click and click on eiw source im still seeing

phpinfo();
?>

Does any1 have any suggestions on how i can sort out this problem.

Do you have to start the php in services? I run Apache, so I am not sure under IIS

And you set up your php.ini right?

Im not sure. I also tried with apache earlier but i get the same problem.

it reads files saved as .php if they have html code insode them but as soon as i try using a php script it wont execute.

trying to get apache/php/mysql to run on Xp Pro localhost... :glare:

i used wamp
removed it as i could not get php to parse(execute) properly

tried xampp
removed as i had the same issue.

installed newest versions of PHP, Apache and MySQL manually with default settings.

my scripts work fine on remote host but on localhost - nothing, zilch, nada.... 🙁
sripts are not being parsed. everything shows up as text (source).

what am i missing?

As I use Ubuntu Linux now I don't have the IIS manager to go look at but bsically you probably just need to tell IIS to execute php.exe when it sees a file with a PHP extension. Have you read these instructions in the manual?

Hey thanx for the posts. I have actually sorted out my problem and now php does execute. it was my Permissions on the NTFS drive where all my files are. i simple went to My computer > View > Folder options > View and unselected use simple file sharing. Then i right clicked on my drive clicked on properties and the security tab went through the list oof usesers and added a user called Everyone and selected it to Allow everything from then on my php has been executing all its code. Thanx anyway 🙂
