[RESOLVED] Apache URL problem

Hello all,
I've been setting up my computer as a webserver and have been testing the site. I've come across a problem which appears to be related to security in apache and I am struggling to resolve/understand it.

When a user types in a url accessing a file on the server it just goes to the default page. If you click on a link however it will open the file you are needing. In my site I send out an e-mail with a link to a script. Clicking on the link takes you to the default page though!!

I think it has something to do with the <directory /> part in Apache but I do not understand how to change it.

This is what I have at the moment.

<Directory />
Options FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride None
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Satisfy all
</Directory>

Any help would be appreciated.

Unless the 'default page' you're talking about is a 403 Error, then that probably isn't the section that is giving you issues. Are you using virtual hosts?

Thanks for your reply. I had meant to mark it as resolved with an explanation.

The company I had registered my domain with was using framed web forwarding. I can't explain my frustration at finding that out after severel hours playing with Apache.

I've only myself to blame though as it was me who had ticked the box for web forwarding. The site is now up and running fine though.
