Session Start-Up

I'm trying to use sessions to store a user's username for me. I seem to be messing up the sessions_start() command. I've put this:

<?php session_start(); ?>

at the top of the body section of my page but get this message:

Any guidance?

You need to call session_start before you've sent any output. This includes all (unbuffered) content.

If you're using a free hosting provider which sets an auto prepend file, this may not be possible. Either contact their support (like they care 🙂 ) or get a proper host.

Does this problem occur on your local development server?
