[RESOLVED] Uploading 2 files at once...

Ok. I am creating a website where members can upload an audio files and a text file to accompany it. I never got into the uploading part of php. My question is simply, where can I go to get information on using php to be able to upload 2 files at once, and maybe rename the files before they are uploaded.

I am really lost in this subject of PHP.

[man]features.file-upload[/man] pretty much tells you everything you need to know.

Basically, for multiple file uploads, all you need to do is have two separate file INPUT elements with different names, and go through the process of handling uploaded files twice - once for each INPUT element.

Ok one more question.. What would be the mime for an mp3 or txt? Stupid question eh? I only find stuff for gif images or jpeg.

Ok. My problem now is that .mp3 files are not recognized by the file type. I have tried the MIME from the list, and then I just echoed the variable to see what came up, and this came up.

Only other way I can think of would to somehow find out if the file has .mp3 at the end, and if it does, then accept it.. or something like that.

The official list is maintained by the IANA. For MP3 audio there's no official type (closest IANA entries being "audio/mpeg" and "audio/mp4") - which is probably why you're having trouble - but a Google search turns up "audio/mpeg3" and sometimes "audio/x-mpeg3", for plain text it's "text/plain". And there is no "application/force-download"; it's "application/octet-stream".

Of course, you can't trust the client to be honest or correct about the MIME type of the file it uploads; if you want something more reliable than some random PC's sayso, you need to examine the file yourself, say through the [man]fileinfo[/man] functions.
