Is this a good way of doing an email mailout?

Hi

I need to mail a link to every name in our DB, got some 800-900 entries. I want to mail them an HTML formatted email, I've coded it all and got it as one giant var...$msg.

I've got my PHP script SELECT * from the DB and for each row firing off that that great big $msg value.

It works for a small test Table with like 6 rows in it but I'm a bit reluctant to try it on 900, do you think that too much work for an email server to do at once?

Is this the right way to do it?

Sorry for asking stupid questions but I've never had to do this before and dont' wanna mess it up.

I was wondering if I was better off doing it in chunks, say LIMIT 0-200.....201-400... etc etc

When I send mass email, I set a cron that send 300 email in one hour and sleep 1 sec after each email it sends, this way it doesn`t crash my server ...
