[RESOLVED] Displaying pages that have changed

I am a newbie to PHP. I have searched other posts looking for a solution. Although many are close, I just can't find one. Will someone point me in the right direction? I need to do the following:
Read the directory of html or php pages and extract the date modified.
Determine whether the change is 0-2 days old [1] or 3-7 days old [2]
Set a variable that can be read in a js file indicating the age [1] or [2]
put the file name in an array holding ages [1] or [2]
display each array in alpha order as links

This may be quite complex for a newbie but I need to do it.

ok that has worked.....however, to get it to work, I had to put the whole address of the file as indicated in [1] is there a way to get php to just use the current directory I am in? i.e. [2]
[1] $dir = opendir("C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\mytestsite\localhost\www")
