Website Promotion Advice

Hello all,
I've been working hard creating a website using php. I'm not going to use phpbuilder to advertise my site as I'm sure it is against the rules.

Instead what I was wondering is how can I let people know about it. I've sent out lots of e-mails and have got a few businesses registering with the site and linking to it. Also I've e-mailed a few press companies to try and generate interest. I am getting quite a few visits but was looking for more.

Is there anywhere that you can post a website for people to look at and maybe give feedback etc? Basically somewhere free to let people know about it.

I'm sure I probably need to be patient but it's not in my nature.

Also being a student means I don't have money (yet) for advertising.

Any ideas/thoughts is appreciated.

Well my website is cool and does have some good content. Have you seen it? Probably not.

How then do I let people know it exists?

Haven't seen it...you haven't posted a link.

If you don't have quality, unique content (not just a bunch of reblog links) then you have a chance to get noticed. But, there are a billion other people doing this with no many right now as well...and it will one get more competitive.

A good idea, will win every time. The web is nice that way.

Firstly your name has a lot of 'a's in it. Hadn't really noticed that before.

I'd like to apologise for my reply to your reply. It was a bit cheeky and uncalled for. I'd had a long day with very little sleep and was becoming frustrated on not getting many people to the site.

What you've said is true and with a good idea it should catch on. I think when you spend so much time on something you become dilluded on how good you think it is and my views are probably well biased.

I'll keep sending out the e-mails and try to get some interest on it. If it ever does take off then I'll be sure to PM you and let you know.

Well just to let people know I've managed to get some interest in my website. My university is going to do an article on myself and my website which is cool. They even said they will do a press relase which is awesome.

Is there anywhere on phpbuilder that I could let people see my site?

I am not keen on posting a link in this thread as I'm sure some of the moderators would have a problem with it.

I don't get the concept.

I only sign up for things where there is something I'd want...like information. I don't see any information on your site...it's a meme. It's like a meme pyramid scheme.
