emptying tables automatically

how can i empty one of my tables in mysql every 48 hours?

i have a table that accumulates up to 100,000 rows daily, and it is only useful on that day. it has no other use when that day has passed.

so i need something to empty it everyday or everyother day...

Consider setting up a crontab to do a "delete from blahblah" shortly after midnight.

crontab

1. Create a script to do the table deletion.
2. Schedule the script to be run at a regular time via crontab

If your web host provides a control panel interface of some sort (e.g. the "cpanel" interface), it may have a crontab UI you can use.

If you're on a Windows server, you'd instead look into using the Windows Scheduler (or whatever it's called).
