got a new job

hi all,
been a long time...

been looking for a job since i was separated from my employment on 8/14/06

i now work for Noridian(www.noridian.com), an insurance company that runs Blue/Cross, i am their newest Analyst/Programmer

it's hard to get access to outside websites sometimes so i'll likely be scarce for awhile til i get back on track

oddly enuff, they allow Remote Desktop, so, i think i'll RD home and peruse that way maybe 🙂

As for 14 months in the US, of course! How else do you think we achieved so much in the 19th and early 20th centuries?? Productivity skyrockets when you can work 2 weeks more than anyone else and still have 8 full weeks of vacation to look forward to!!!

Of course, this whole cosmopolitan thing and writing dates in DDMMYY format is responsible for the mess things are in now, too ..... 😉

well, not really doing anything different i guess, but i'll be doing C#.NET stuff mixed with PHP stuff here...

it's gonna be hard to get used to the healthcare/medicare industry versus the casino industry i was accustomed to!

Nah, insurance companies, casino management, crooks all --- just the modus operandi changes. 😃

My wife works for a "crop insurance" agency ... now there's a racket for ya. Farmers pay premiums to the company, and when there's a claim, the companies pay out with government relief funds.

Now if Uncle Sam would just loan me a couple decent technicians, and let me collect the fees for all their work, I'd have a nice "cushy" thing going too... as it stands, I can't take a day to work on the house without coming back to a crushing load of e-mail, spam, voicemail and trouble tickets .... 😃

i guess i was talking more about how you have to have a procedure/regulation/rule/policy for ANYTHING you do since it's dealing with government ran medicare, as opposed to casinos, they are regulated, but only to a very small extent
