Help With GetContents and Looping Through Each Line

Can someone help me with the below code. I am trying to return the dealer name and address from the dealer locator.

My logic here is once I reach the dealer name field which identified by using strstr($Line, '</strong></span>' I then set a counter becasue the address field can not be identified by strstr function. The counter would become 1 when it finds the first name on the page then on each iteration of the for each loop it will increase the counter. When the counter is 5 it should be on an address line for the dealer so I should be able to set this line to the address variable.

This code works perfect in returning dealer names if I remove the if ($counter=5) section, but when that it in the loop it just returns the whole page.

Please help, your suggestions are much appreciated.

You should use the equal comparison (==) for testing the conditions in your code:

e.g. if ($counter=5)

When a user has indicated that the problem has been resolved, don't you think it is redundant to ask if that is a fact!

Why clog up the information flow with such vacuous questions? Are you trying to build up the answer count with worthless queries?

I wasn't asking anything, I was informing them that they should mark the thread resolved if it has been. That way, when people are browsing the list of threads for unanswered problems, they won't read through all of the posts in this thread only to find one at the end saying "Thanks, that fixed it!"

A forum is a forum. The words speak for themselves if a problem has been resolvedl

And without any offense intended Brad, I don't think there is any reason to ask a post submitter if his his problem has been resolved even when his last reply has affirmed that.

I also think that putting these kinds of notices in the current thread before the problem has been resolved is misleading.

Surely you must recognize that some ot the questions posted take an indetermintate time to completely resolve, and other inputs may be forthcoming.

This is especially common when answers have been submitted, and others have not reviewed the post for comment.

All of which leads me to believe that the current practice of annotating the post with this kind of comment is both premature, out of context., and possibly misleading.

So in the best interests of this forum, I would suggest that you do not, in your administrative authority, degrade the forums in this manner and especially do not post conclusions of a problem when there is the possibllity that comment is incomplete within the forum.

I'm not exercising any "administrative authority" -- I've always done this.

At any rate, I think we've posted enough about this here. If you want to discuss this topic, feel free to start a thread in the Feedback forum. Otherwise, let's not continue the offtopic posts.
