Obtaining vars from a file

Hi Guys!

Im doing a small CMS for a local band, and i was wandering is there a way of being able to set variables in a seperate file that can be fetched when the file is parsed?

Things such as front page text etc

Thanks for your quick response, however you don't seem to understand what i mean.

What i mean is i have a file, for example, Vars.php and the contents would be:

$IndexText = "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Duis eu eros ut justo posuere suscipit. Integer iaculis lacus et nibh. Integer leo. Praesent enim libero, cursus vitae";

etc etc

Then i have my index page which would be like this below:

<? include 'Vars.php'; ?>

<td>[code=php]<? echo $IndexText; ?>

</td>[/code]

I use the word Global Variables, but i do not want to enable Globals in my ini file

If you understand what i mean,

I'm trying to understand it differently, but...

It looks to me like the way you're doing it (with the code in your second post) will give you what you want. As for "Global Variables" and "enable Globals", if you mean turn on "register_globals", I don't see why you need to, or what that has to do with it.

Edit: Do you mean is there a way to dynamically set the value of the included file's variables?

coz ive looked @ source code 4 like phpmyadmin and for forum software and its different to that
