[RESOLVED] WAMP server, site root?

uhh i don't consider myself a noob 😛 but this question is stupid and i cant find what i want anywhere.

I locally have windows and a windows server for testing/developing. remotely i am hosted on a Linux box.

I know my site root is;

"/home/username/public_html/"

I cant for the life of my figure out or get my site root to work on my local machine. I feel so stupid. lol.

the folder that Apache is using for server is "E:\www"

You may be over thinking this, or I don't understand your question. I'm running WAMP locally also. The www folder is the root, you can create folders in www folder as subsites.

i need to know the bottom level that PHP can see.

on my linux host it can see right the "home" directory despite public_html being the only area others can access.

Unless Safe Mode is enabled, PHP can "see" your entire hard drive. (Now, with NTFS you can restrict where it can go with permissions and whatnot)
