Php downloading page error

Hi, i hav created a page that will generate an exel file from a database data and the file will then be downloaded.....everything work fine at the begining.....after a few month then problem arise...the problem is the downloading speed has become slower and slower and now i can't even download the file. i have check everything, the linux server(try restart b4 still the same) and the mssql database all are working fine which i dun understand is last time it work fine why suddenly become un0usable....please help...

When you say you "can't even download the file" ... what do you mean precisely? Does the download start but eventually dies before completing?

Are you sure your server isn't under heavier load than it has been in the past? What about bandwidth usage - are you perhaps maxing out your alloted bandwidth?

Also, showing us the script you're using might help as well.

yes, the download have started but eventually died b4 completing the process....the bandwidth usage are relatively low.....

By any chance, have you noticed how long the download lasts? Is it around 30 seconds?

I only ask because it may very well be that you need to use [man]set_time_limit/man to increase (or entirely remove) the maximum execution time for the script. Note that if you're running in Safe Mode (check phpinfo() to see) this won't work.

The download lasts more than 30 seconds, which is around 10 min plus...i also have set_time_limit(0) code writing at the top of the script...

It might be that Apache (or whatever httpd software your server is running) is timing out the connection... other than that, I have no clue. Sorry!
