im asking this because i have plans to support the top 10 with paFileDB Extreme Edition 2.0.0 which is a very far future version :) im currently almost readt to release beta 1 of Extreme Edition 1.0.0 but i would still like to know this.

it must be php!!! no perl ro other languages.. php only

my personal top 10:
1. vBulletin
2. Invision Power Board
3. phpBB
4. React
5. XMB Forum
6. SMF
7. PunBB
8. UseBB
9. XennoBB (it has a bad reputation.. so im not sure of this one)
10. IceBB (its looking good and very promissing)

    although i've never used it, i've heard good things about Ikonboard... it is mainly a CGI-board, but they say there is a PHP version as well

    i don't have a list persay... i typically use and use for clients phpBB cuz it's fairly feature-rich (aside from admin panel) and free

        Those are honestly the top ones for me. I've never even heard of some of the others. And if you go to many active communities, you'll see vB, IPB, SMF, and phpBB used more-often.

          My top 10 consists of:

          1. SMF for high usage, full featured sites
          2. Vanilla for simpler needs - http://getvanilla.com/

          That's it. I tried phpBB but rather quickly converted to SMF. My needs are not heavy duty so if I'd known about Vanilla initially I would have gone with it.

            i added Vanilla 🙂 i saw some documentation of it and that looks good. but the forum really looks different .. 😛 o will i will do my best 🙂

            any more forums that anyone would consider to be important enough to make a paFileDB Extreme Edition extension for?

            or do you think that some of the 11 forums that are in the first post don`t deserve that extension?

              1- SMF = Most unfailing of them all.
              2- vBulletin = Very good, but would never use it as long as SMF is around.
              3- Burning Board = Good, but I would use it only if the two above did not exist, but they do. 😃
              4- Ikonboard = Same as Burning Board comment.

              The rest I don't have good things to say, so better not say anything. :quiet:

                Thanx WorkAolic, i think i have enough forums now ro be bussy for 10 years 😉 and for most of them im not even sure if its possible to make a module in it the way i want it.. what i want is kinda like this:
