[RESOLVED] Fatal error: Unsupported operand types

this line

$panierTot = ($_SESSION['panier'] * $_SESSION['prix_panier']);

is giving me the following error message

Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /home.10.3/etalbio/www/produits-bio.php on line 240

what i can't understand is that until about 30 minutes ago it wasn't a problem at all !!

any ideas ?

It might depend on the contents of the Session variables and their type

If one has become a string you can't multiply strings.

on my local machine with php 4.3.3 it doesn't happen but it does on the distant machine running php 4.4.4 - would that make a difference ?

how would i go about ensuring that the contents of the session vars are numbers and not strings ?

You can check using is_int() if using integers or is_float() if using decimals
