need help about automatic hyperlinking

i have created a web page using MS front page and
i folder nme midi containing 600 midi files and uploaded both at a free web hosting service

no i need to know that is there any way that the names of all files in folder MIDI automatically appears on my web page

i dont want to type names of files and then create there hyperlinks it may take lot of time i have to submit nearly 2000 files .

Well ... if I understand you correctly ... you could use directory indexing from Apache to display the contents of the midi folder. Generally directory indexing is turned on, so just don't upload an index file to the midi directory and browse to that folder.

Otherwise, you could use [man]readdir[/man] to scan the directory then create your links via the filename.

Take a look at glob(), then you could do something like this:

i have a problem too i have no knoledge of php but need to use a php script

i am creating a web site i have 6oo midi ringtones files in a folder named midi that is uploaded at free web hosting service of freewebtown.com my site name will be freewebtown.com/estore

i want download able display of all the names of 600 midi files at page named allhollywood.html

i dont want to type all 600 names and then create their hyperlink

tell me the exact script to insert in page allhollywood.html

You cant do that with a regular HTML file, you need to use PHP for this (or some other serverbased scripting language). Copy the code I gave you, paste it into an empty file, name it allhollywood.php change the $path variable in the script so it points to your midifolder. Upload your file and browse to your file, and you´ll see all your 600 midifiles as links (depending if your webserver allowes you to use PHP and that you specified the right path to your midifolder).
