[RESOLVED] HELP to upload certain file

hi there..., how to make my upload process only accept file with .htm,.xml,.doc, and .txt ?
i tried this only for testing purpose <input type="file" accept="image/gif" name=abc> but didn't work, i still able to send word or ppt file :bemused: ..
i'm using ie 6 , can u help me...

Try echo $_FILES['file_input_name']['type'] after upload to see the file type ...

and how bout the file size? if i can check later with $_FILES['size'] then what about <input type=hidden name=maxsize value=300000>, ? what it's purpose?

The manual section titled Handling file uploads says:

This is an advisory to the browser, PHP also checks it. Fooling this setting on the browser side is quite easy, so never rely on files with a greater size being blocked by this feature.

BTW, that's MAX_FILE_SIZE, not maxsize.
