uploading more than one file

Hi,

Here is a form that will upload a picture to where I want it and it will also insert it into my database, if I wanted to add another file field in the form for people to upload a pdf as well as the other image how would you go about it?

Name the upload field(s):

Then in PHP reference it as:

Thanks for the reply, however could you insert the code into my exsisting script as I have tried to do it but I cannot get it to work. I mean how do you then insert each file into a separate column in the database if both file boxes are of the same name?

Hi bpat,

I tried your code however when I tried to upload a photo I just got 5 lines of the file could not be moved. What I am trying to do is have a form where users fill in their name, email etc and at the bottom of the page is upload a picture and a pdf, I then want the name and email inserted into the database and the files uploaded into my server with the link to these files inserted into the same line as the name and email of that person. Does that make sense and is this possible?

Could you print out the $file array in the loop? I'm interested to see what it's filled with.

i.e.

Seems like you aren't uploading multiple files, or you you don't have multiple input fields.

You are right, I am only uploading one file, but since there is only one file field to browse I can only upload one file. If I were to put an additional file field in the form would this work differently? Maybe it might be worth you doing a script with two file fields to upload a picture and a pdf and have the links to the files inserted into a database, then maybe I can get it to work that way.

I have looked at your website, and you have come accross as a nice young man. How do you get the pagination on your photo page?

It's relatively simple. If you search the board(s) here, you'll see plenty of this question asked. Just either tack onto an old topic, or try what was suggested. If you still need help, start another topic and PM me the link.

Well, glad I figured the issue out. The easiest way to solve it is to add the extra <input type="file" /> field to your HTML form. I might have time today to mock something up for you, but can't be 100% sure. If I get time, I'll put one together; otherwise, just try adding an extra input field and populating both and then uploading. It should work.

The following code should work for you. I commented out what I didn't need (the mySQL stuff) and left the upload and stuff. So if you uncomment your code and try it, you should have a working model to go off of.
