i'm having problems the website laods and all but it wont comunecate whit the database it keeps saying i nead to update my sql version evendo i have the curent version.

this is in my httpd.conf

PHPIniDir "D:/WebServer/PHP/"
LoadModule php5_module "D:/WebServer/PHP/php5apache2_2.dll"
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php

my php.ini has extension=php_mysql.dll enabled.

Did you copy libmysql.dll in C:\WINDOWS\ or C:\WINNT\ ?

Due to the version of MySQL server you're running, you need to use the [man]MySQLi[/man] library, not the [man]MySQL[/man] library.

Also note that copying any .dll files (or the php.ini file, IIRC) to a system folder has been deprecated - you should be adding PHP's install dir to the system PATH environment variable instead.

suntra are you trying to be a smart ass twards me? i ben doing this for over 4 years now i defenitly know about that but bradgrafelman has a point and first time i cross this problem.

I have tride that, saw it in a difrent forum and i get some error's whit that as well.
but just to verafy i nead to remove the ; for extension=php_mysqli.dll corect? if so i get the faloing error on the website.

This PHP environment doesn't have MySQL support built in. MySQL support is required if you want to use a MySQL database to run this forum. Consult the PHP documentation for further assistance.

Though I can't speak for suntra, I personally think he was honestly trying to help. There is no way any of us could have known how long you have been "doing this". All we know is that you are new to these forums, and that not copying the .dll file is a rather common error.

Also, did you uncomment the mysqli reference and the re-comment the mysql reference? As I understand, the two libraries do not play nicely when loaded at the same time. Try loading the mysqli dll ONLY.

I have done that. i had a frind thats verry femlior whit it. I got him to cheak it out remotly and he was rader bafled as well.

I have tride a few difrent ting whit no resolts i am tempted to go whit IIS

And sorry if i was a little rude to him, the problem as ben geting to me.
