Newsletter Question

IF i am creating a newsletter using PHP. So i want PHP to send out my newsletter a certain amount of days after the user has signed up, how do i tell PHP to count the days since the signup, or how do i tell PHP to keep running. Perhaps this is a stupid question for most but i'm new to PHP and don't quite know how it works. Please help. Thanks.

I don't know of a way to get php to run on its own without a cron job set up. A cron job is what I would use. You can set it up to run a php file everyday, hour, minute...whatever you like. Your php file could be coded to check the join date of a user against the current date to see if it's time to send them an email.

Can you please explain what does mean a cron job and how it must be coded? I also need a script, that sends e-mails, run every hour.
