[RESOLVED] Editing HTML Menu

Hi all,

I have a html menu as below...

<ul>
<li><a href="#">home</a></li>
<li><a href="#">about</a></li>
<li><a href="#">news</a></li>
</ul>

What is the best way to set up a form to allow a user to edit this menu??

Should I use xml?

I would imaging setting up a form with the menu displayed. The user could then select to add/delete/update the menu and PHP would process this.

Any ideas?

several differnt ways to do this, would you be wanting to use a database or just editing/ building the html directly?

save to mysql db, then use db data to write in a text,like this:

$menu ="<li><a href=\"#\">home</a></li><li><a href=\"#\">about</a></li><li><a href=\"#\">news</a></li>";

thanks guys. I think I will use the Database method. However, the menu contains many sets of sub links - what would be the best way to organise this in a database?

You could use two tables, one for the main menu categories with a numeric primary key. The second would have the submenu categories and have the main menu ID as a foreign key, i.e.

main_menu

main_menu_id

main_menu_name

sub_menu

sub_menu_id
sub_menu_name
main_menu_id
