[RESOLVED] calculating days only in this week

hello i am trying to make a schedule based upon the current days of the week, then the rest falls in an archive.

here is what i have so far

 $sql = 'SELECT DATE_FORMAT(date,"%a") AS cur_day, date,day,download,heading,id,listen,listen_link,text,timestamp FROM webcasts ORDER BY date DESC';

ok so now i have results that show my results with a day name (like Sun. Sat.) etc. -> how do i know that the results are from the current week, how do i determine this?

do i need to subtrace the date - 7 or something like that.

what i want:

this sunday - date - heading - etc.
this week - sat
this week - frid
this week - thurs
this week - wed
this week - tues
this week - mon

last week - sunday

last week archives

any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need a where statement to compare date(?) with the dates of the start and end of the week. ie

SELECT DATE_FORMAT(date,"%a") AS cur_day, date,day,download,heading,id,listen,listen_link,text,timestamp FROM webcasts WHERE date >= $start_date AND date <= $end_date ORDER BY date DESC

how do i determine that the week start is the sunday that is just past and greater than the next sunday?

i mean that is correct right a week technically starts on sunday and ends at the next sunday?

so my start date would be last sunday and end date is next sunday and everything in between is weekdays

and the previous week is then smaller than last week sunday and greater than two weeks sunday?

 $prevSunday2 =date($format,strtotime('last Sunday'));
   $nextSunday2 = date($format,strtotime('this Sunday'));
