LDAP,K5ADM and PHPINFO()

Hello.

I read the instructions on how to install the LDAP module on a windows machine in the php manual at http:://phpbuilder.com/manual/en/ref.ldap.php . All it said was to put the libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll files in the windows SYSTEMS folder. Either C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM or C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32. The manual did not say anything about installing K5ADM. The rest of the detailed information on that page was for a linux platform. I also took out the ; in the extension=php_ldap.dll line in php.ini.

When I did that I then restarted my web browser and ran a page that only had PHPINFO() in the html. I did not see anywhere on the output page where LDAP or K5ADM shown. Are these modules supposed to show up in a phpinfo page? And if not how do I know they are running?

Regardless of what that manual page says, it's actually deprecated to copy DLL files to a SYSTEM folder. Instead, you should read the instructions on this man page: [man]install.windows.manual[/man]. Specifically, you need to copy the DLL files into the main folder PHP is installed in and then add this folder to your system's PATH environment variable (don't forget to restart after you make this change!).

Also... where does phpinfo() say your php.ini file is located? Where is this file actually located?

OK phpinfo() says that my php.ini file is located in C:\php. I noticed that after I posted this original message. I had and old copy of php.ini in C:\windows. I deleted it. I then took out the ;s in the C:\PHP\php.ini file for the extension=php_ldap.dll line in the extension section of the php.ini file. I think as you suggested added C:\php;C:\php\ext to my path. I thought I would add the ext folder just in case. I checked that both those dll were in C:\PHP just to be sure that I compied them before instead cut and pasted them. There are in that folder. I started up my web browser and ran the http://127.0.0.1/phpinfo.php file and LDAP and KADM5 still do not show up ANYWHERE in that document. I even did a ctrl-f and searched that phpinfo page for both LDAP and kADM5 just in case I was missing it with my eyes as I scanned the page. Nothing found.

Can you give me any more advise. I tried to be overly detailed in the response just so you know EXACTLY what I did and am doing.

Okay... phpinfo() is reading the correct file, but still no dice?

What is "display_startup_errors" set to? If it is Off, set it to On and restart Apache (are you using Apache, by the way? :p). Any errors loading the .dll extension should pop up as soon as Apache is (re)started.

Nope I am using a free web server called badblue. www.badblue.com
It has run every php script I have thrown at it. But the thing is those modules do not even show up in the phpinfo() screen.

Did you check the value of dislpay_startup_errors anyway?

Display_startup_errors says "Off"

You might try setting it to On and restarting your webserver. See if any error messages pop up.

Otherwise, I'd say do a clean install of Apache and PHP.

Yes bradgrafelman I had to do that anyway today. I was trying to fix the problem myself by editing the php.ini file. and somehow I got to the point where NO php scrips would run. I would just get a white window with something like "ERROR3"
So I deleted php and bad bluse and install both again

No that did not . But I got some help on #php at freenode and finally got the LDAP functions working. I still cannot see the KADM5 functions though.
