hello everybody. this is a very noob question and i apologise to my mother.
using

echo"whatever\n";

is all well and good, but for those occasions when i want to use single quotes i cant get the \n to work. i have tried concatenation

echo 'other stuff' . \n;

which is not happening. i have also tried it inside the single quotes but this obviously displays the \n on screen. what am i doing wrong?

nevermind. i just realised that i am escaping the \n and need to use \n. god bless these

For \n to work it has to be in double quotes. So this would work for concatanation

echo 'other stuff' ."\n";

One way I go about using it, along with a <br> tag, is to define it like

define("_N", "<br>\n");

You can then do this

echo 'other stuff' ._N;
