Irc Server password

i am coding a php irc bot

but the server is using a password. :xbones:

now i got this code

/ Connect to the irc server /
$con['socket'] = fsockopen($CONFIG['server'], $CONFIG['port'],$CONFIG['serverpass']);

bit i keep gettign a :xbones: password mismatch :xbones: and the password is correct.

does anybody know how to make a socket connecting to a irc server with password

😕 i google for like 5 days now, and not even google could help me. 😕

so maybe some here can PLEASE HELP!

I don't know anything about the IRC protocol (since you're coding the bot you'd know more than I), but I'd figure that once you've opened the socket (server and port) then you'd fwrite() the username/password combination to that socket at some point.

What you certainly wouldn't do is use that information as [man]fsockopen[/man]'s third argument (which is for returning the error status).

well he username and pass is correct

but i need the variable set for server password not for username password

but i made the vaariuble but somehow the client doesn't send the pass to server

even well i tell it to do so ( $CONFIG['serverpass')

but thanks for the info.
