LOGON_USER or PHP_AUTH_USER

I am building an internal site that we wish to snag the login info users use for their windows login. I have search high and low and it looks like that info should be in $SERVER['LOGON_USER'] or $SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'].

We are running PHP 5.1 on IIS and all of those variables are "no value" in phpinfo(). I can't echo them either.

Is this even possible with PHP?

PHP_AUTH_USER will only be set if you are running PHP as a module. are you running PHP as CGI?

Look at your server API in phpinfo
