PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT HERE :bemused:
Right, well bout 6 weeks ago I took over from this awesome programmer as head programmer of a PHP/MySQL CMS, and well things have been going ok. I have a pretty good knowledge of PHP and am getting to grips pretty well with MySQL, but the past couple days I've been stuck on one..ONE!!! little bloody problem and I need help off you guys..please.
Well the problem is
The cms runs fine, we've been making new sites, running them smoothly, updating them and updating plugins, nothing has gone wrong. Then on Monday morning we tested out a new site we were doing, and nothign runs like it should. I've not changed a thing since our last site upload, all files remain the same, and its only on a test domain aswell...well has been on 4 of them now, still no joy.
We looked in depth into everything, the MySQL tables, comparing them to older tables and everything was as it should. Set up new databases, new test sites, setup the CMS on it time and time again, but still there is one problem with it.
The CMS loads up properly, but we cant get any links to work...not even a link on the home page to the home page, which by my experience should refresh the page. It should store the page ID and call it each time, and it does, just the pages don't load...and until today this problem hadnt occured. Everything is perfect, the code, the database...and we keep looking around, mod_rewrite.so is a common file that we get told to check, but it cant have anything wrong with it as its a server file and all teh other sites are working perfectly.
I know that its a kinda vague description of the problem but if you in anyway believe you can help then contact me and I'll be able to give you more details if you need them...any even tiny suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I've completely ran outta ideas, and am quickly running out of patience with this also.
