[RESOLVED] PHP output to html

I'm having some trouble with this concept of getting PHP output to HTML with in a HTML page. The data will help determine the images that are shown on the page.

. so have PHP output put in a file (image numbers). I can do the fopen in php but I can't seem to find the code/concepts that move the data between the to.

the result I need is:
a href="http://www.somesite.com/photos/116430303-L.jpg">
<img border="2" src="http://IamaReporter.smugmug.com/photos/116430303-S.jpg" width="256" height="192" HSPACE=75 VSPACE=10 >

To get there Id like to just do.......

$image_id = 116430303;
a href="http://www.somesite.com/photos/. $image_id . -L.jpg">
<img border="2" src="http://IamaReporter.smugmug.com/photos/. $imageid . -S.jpg" width="256" height="192" HSPACE=75 VSPACE=10 >

but so far that isn't working. I'm just not understand the link up. I reading the PHP and HTML are buds. I'm hoping it will be easy.

(and on a related note.... I'm I to close these questions (resolved) when I happy?

echo '<img border="2" src="http://IamaReporter.smugmug.com/photos/'. $imageid . '-S.jpg" width="256" height="192" HSPACE=75 VSPACE=10 >'

That should work find, all i done was encapsulated the different desctions in single quotes and added the echo command at the start.
