[RESOLVED] Photoshop : Changing B/W to Black/Blue

Hi,

I'm pretty stumped how to do this, i'm not very good with photoshop... just using the trial version at the moemnt.

What I would like to do is take a picture that I have, in grayscale (b/w) and change it so its black and blue.... it seems like there should be a really easy way to do this.

Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Or are we talking about specific parts of the picture that you want to change to blue?

kinda like that yeah, but i was hoping to keep the black ... black and make the white a light blue...

so instead of being grayscale ranging from white to black, its grayscale ranging from blue to black

Well the white in the bluish tinted picture above really is a light blue, if you mess with the levels a little bit you may achieve the results your looking for.

Image>Adjustments>Levels

The method to the above image is actually quite simple. Make a new layer above your base layer, choose a dark blue color and fill the new layer with that color, and then change the blend mode to overlay or soft light. Once again adjust levels to get the result you need.

Doesn't Photoshop have a duotone colour model? I haven't used the thing in years, but I remember it in an older version and don't expect it was taken out.
