A complete newbie to the php world here....
Trying to build a dept website. Is there a way to get the network login id(the corporate network) of the users visiting my page? I plan to use this to control site access and hate to ask them to do a logon again. The OS is XP Pro.
TIA
$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
you should consider use cookies to store login data into users pcs
Thanks for the reply, but that gave me the IP only. I was specifically looking for the userid used to login to the machine/network.
If you are using IIS and can activate the integrated windows authentification method for the directory, you can probably use $_SERVER['REMOTE_USER']. For more info, see [man]features.http-auth[/man].
Otherwise, you might try Google.
