New PHP5 Upgrade

I have recently upgraded to PHP and MySQL 5. It took a while to get it up and running and I think that there is still a problem with the install because on ever page I get errors stating that I have not properly called certine varibles in scripts that were working in PHP 4.

Example:

Notice: Use of undefined constant description - assumed 'description' in escalEVO1.php on line 102 PHP

This is line 1 of 47 errors all with the same syntax.

Any help or direction would be great.

Can you tell us what is on that line of code?

EDIT Is this a script you made or a premade one? Just wondering, because if its premade You might want to check its PHP5 compatable.

Apparently on the v4 installation you had error reporting for notices (at least) turned off, but on the v5 installation it's on, and whoever wrote the script didn't bother to properly enquote associative array keys.

RESOLVED:

Turning off the error reporting worked. The script was self wrote. I am not sure what enquoting means, but I thank you for your answers.

Sorry, "enquote" is my made-up word meaning "quote".

I'm sure your solution "worked" in that you don't see the error messages anymore, but the errors are still there. It's usually considered better practice to correct errors rather than to ignore them.

You are correct that I still have errors, and the runtime of the server is also an issue that I am dealing with, however no that the error reporting is gone the server has spead up considerably and that is a start. I am sooo glad that "enquote" is your word and not a total noob out on my part. LOL thanks
