This topic doesn't really relate to php, but this is one of the few forums I'm a member of. So...

I'm looking for ways to organize my network cable collection that doesn't require a whole lot of money or space. Currently, I have them all in bins, but I want to use the bin space for something else. I used to have them hanging on an old shoe rack (the kind that hangs on a door) but don't have the space now. I need them organized by size and maybe color.
What are some ways you have seen or heard of to organize cables?
Share your ideas, and whoever has the best idea that I can use will receive a special reward. (Probably just a post on the forum saying thanks🙂 )

Have you thought about using like garden hose spools? Something like: Cable Reels. Down toward the bottom are a couple hand-reels.

Otherwise I'd suggest you purchase a crimper, some ends, and a huge reel of CAT-5 cable 😉 Then there's no "storing" cable, you "martha stewart" that!! I crack myself up sometimes....

Ya, we've thought about using spools of wire. The drawback, however, is that if we need to have a cord in an emergency, we don't want to have to worry about "making" a cable. I'll have to take another look at our room setup to see if we can use the pegboard storage idea.

unfortunately i havent touched any cisco gear in about 2 years... i remember when i DID work on the stuff i could remember everything easy... but if u asked me right now how to simply elevate privledges from standard login shell i couldnt tell u the command... i do have the CCNA hardcover book that gets me through what i do need to tackle

trunking, grouping etc... i want a router for home just to play with and learn on

hehe... i def would have spent some time in the virtual lab... in school we got a cd that has an emulated cisco env. with unlimited equipment etc... pretty neat
