How do google adverts redirect?

Hi,

I am writing some code to track clicks on links that leave my site and am trying to work out how google or other pay per click advertising system redirects the browsers once they have registered the click. however, the pages load move so quickly, I can't see the source.

Any ideas?

if you download ethereal packet sniffer, you can monitor the traffic and it'll log the http requests and let you see the response they send back (html source)

You could have them open a page page on your site with some variable in the url which identifies the link clicked. You register this ID, grab the URL from the database, and do a header redirect:

header("Location: http://www.example.com/"); / Redirect browser /
