[RESOLVED] Html in PHP problem

Hi all,

Hopefully this should be easy!

In this code below I want the page to print some html once a condition is met. The problem is that I get an error: unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';' on this line:

echo "<td><tr><input type="text" name="test" value="" maxlength="25"></td></tr>";

the TD and TR are on the wrong place

that bit you are trying to echo is not a proper string because it contains quotes that you have not properly escaped such as type="text". Try preceding each quote within the string to be echoed with a backslash ().

Ok, I have tried the following, but get the same results as before:

<input type=\"text" name=\"test" value="" maxlength="25"></tr></td>";

<input type=\"text"\ name=\"hairextprice"\ value="" maxlength="25"></tr></td>";

Sorry have been away from PHP for a while....

Try following sneakyimp's suggestion and escape the quotes. More information can be found on the [man]string[/man] manual page.
